• Budgeting and Incremental Pricing: Proactively include an “EPR cost”
in product costing. One approach is to allocate EPR cost per unit of product.
E.g., if you sell juice bottles and you know each bottle (with cap/label)
generates 0.05 kg of packaging, and your blended fee rate is say £300 per
tonne, then you have an EPR cost of £0.015 per bottle. Recognizing this
cost allows better pricing decisions and also helps evaluate improvement
projects (if a change cuts that to £0.01 per bottle, on millions of bottles
that’s signi昀椀cant).
In Summary keep in mind the indirect 昀椀nancial bene昀椀ts:
If EPR pushes you to optimize packaging, you may save on raw material
costs, shipping (less weight/volume), and even appeal to eco-conscious
customers (potentially boosting sales).
So it’s not all out昀氀ow, it can catalyse ef昀椀ciencies that were previously
overlooked.
Allpack Can Assist with Eco-Switches:

amount of recyclable content, to comply with existing packaging tax
legislation, we have ranges of packaging options to allow your packing
operations to run smoothly, whilst also being environmentally compliant.
