What are the Obligations
Under PPWR?
Before making packaging available
on the EU Market:
Manufacturer’s Obligation: Under PPWR Regulations, the legal
manufacturer is not necessarily the physical producer of the
packaging. It is often the Brand Owner. It is the party that de昀椀nes
or controls the packaging design speci昀椀cations and places the
packaging or packaged product on the market under its name or
trademark.
This means the Brand Owner is Legally Responsible for:
• Conformity Assessment
• Technical Documentation Collation & Retention
• Product Testing
• Issuing Declaration of Conformity
